2015-2016 Season Announced

The WHSO is proud to announce the concert schedule for our 14th season.

Online ticketing is also open for A Concert to Remember, our 2015 Autumn Classical Concert featuring internationally acclaimed Armenian composer and concert pianist Karén Hakobyan.

We have also updated our Season Subscription and Single Event ticket forms.

The WHSO thanks you!

Once again the curtains falls on an amazing season for both the orchestra and its patrons. The symphony is grateful for the participation of all WHSO volunteers including our musicians, concert staff, music director and board of directors, without whom our mission would not be possible.

We are very happy to announce that, with the continued support of WHSO patrons, we can continue to keep tickets prices untouched for another year. Despite substantially rising overhead costs, we have not raised ticket prices in all our years performing and with your help we can ensure that this continues.

Please consider making a donation, either online or by traditional means, to help us in our effort. The West Hartford Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization and all charitable gifts are tax deductible.

Also possible through the generosity of our patrons is the below award of this year’s WHSO Scholarship, which is presented to each year to symphony members for advanced musical studies.

Congratulations to this year’s WHSO Scholarship winners!

For the second year in a row, the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra has presented summer scholarships to its members for advanced musical studies.

The purpose behind each of the $500 scholarships is for the orchestra member to advance his or her musical knowledge and performance by studying with professionals whom they might not be able to study with during the course of the regular orchestra season or academic year.

This year’s recipients are principal flutist Tracy Norkun, a resident of Forestville, and double bassist Nicholas Giamalis, a resident of Glastonbury. Tracy has been with the WHSO since its founding in 2002. Nicholas, a rising senior at Kingswood Oxford School, has been with the WHSO for the past three years.

The scholarship fund is available due to the generosity of our patrons who have contributed at the scholarship table is set up at each WHSO concert. …Full story on on we-ha.com
